Why Monero? #
Monero is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency, and it's one of the best projects out there in my opinion. Unless you have the absolute feddiest feds after you and slip up, it's essentially the most private form of currency out there, on par with cash in my opinion. It's like what the crypto bros said Bitcoin would be. There is a reason Monero is being suppressed in the United States right now (it's very difficult to buy it directly with USD, as central exchanges are limiting the purchase of it).

I would recommend using a self-custodial wallet so you have full control of your funds and keys.
